Valerie Cronk Kushnerov believes in hard work, common sense and dedication. Throughout her life and career she has applied these three core traits to her life and commitments. Whether it was moving from Illinois to Goleta as a freshman at San Marcos High, to her duties in local government and public affairs after graduating from Westmont College (B.S., Political Science), to her responsibilities as a wife and mother, to starting her own consulting business, she has consistently exemplified these traits.
Throughout her career, Valerie has worked with non-profit boards, educational institutions, public companies and small businesses. She has managed a wide variety of projects from marketing campaigns to events, communications, contracts, and more. She currently works for the City of Goleta as the Public Information Officer. This means that she learns quickly, understands even more quickly – yet she takes the time to obtain and consider the facts! Precisely what is needed in a school board member.
Of even more value to you is the fact that Valerie has children who range in educational needs themselves. Her sixth grader has special needs in the classroom, while her seventh grader requires additional challenges.
One of Valerie’s favorite quotes is from the great philanthropist John D. Rockefeller. He said,
“I believe every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity, an obligation; every possession, a duty.”
Valerie takes these words to heart. She will continue to serve you and your children as though you are her personal responsibility – because you are. You can count on Valerie.
